CE 705
Understanding Health Care Literature: A Primer

Level: Beginning
Prerequisite: None
Cost: $210 (nonmember, $260)
Attendance Maximum: 25

Instructor(s): Kathleen Ann McKibbon, associate professor, Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health Information Research Unit, McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada

Offered: Saturday, May 19, 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

Often, evidence-based teaching and learning relies on studying various categories of health care research such as therapy, diagnosis, and economics-emphasizing the differences across the categories. Librarians, as teachers, need to know about and find the aspects of the health care literature that are common to all categories of clinical research. This workshop looks at twelve topics or issues and shows why each is important.
