To reserve a room, call hotel reservations at 888.421.1442 or go
online. Be sure to mention the “Medical Library Association” when
you call to ensure you receive the listed rates. The deadline for
the hotel to receive your reservation is Monday, April 7, 2008.
Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Room reservation guarantee
A reservation must be guaranteed with a major credit card or by
mailing a check equal to one-night’s room rate, including a 15.4%
tax (subject to change), directly to the hotel (payable to the Hyatt
Regency Chicago).
Check-in/Check-out times
Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is noon.
Room rates
MLA ’08 rates listed below will prevail between May 13 and May
22, 2008, and exclude 15.4% state and local taxes (subject to
change). Room reservations and deposits should be received by
the hotel no later than April 7, 2008, and are subject to availability
in the group block. Reservation requests made after this date will
be handled on a space and rate available basis.
- Rate: $229 single/double occupancy, plus tax
Roommates
You can reserve a room online for up to four people; however, one
credit card number is necessary to guarantee the room. Once onsite,
each guest will be required to submit a credit card for their
portion of the bill and incidentals.
Hotel Orrington
The Hotel Orrington in Evanston, IL, built in 1929, underwent a $34 million dollar renovation in 2005 to make it one of the most sophisticated North Shore hotels for business or pleasure. The Hotel joins contemporary style and historic elegance with superior guest service. It is located in the heart of downtown Evanston just 30 minutes from O'Hare and downtown Chicago. It is adjacent to the Northwestern University campus and an easy walk to more than 200 shops, boutiques, galleries, and bookstores. Restaurant options in the hotel include Blu Coral, a stylish Japanese/sushi restaurant, the Globe Café & Bar and the Indigo Lounge.

Mention the Medical Library Association to receive the group rate. The Medical Library Association group rate is: single/double, $209; triple, $219; and quad, $229 plus tax. Transportation to Headquarters Hotel
The Hotel Orrington is located 1/2 hour north of the Hyatt. MLA will provide complementary shuttle service for the drive along Chicago’s scenic lakefront to/from the Hyatt.

Approximate cost from O’Hare Airport is $31.00 per person and $54.00 round trip (second and third passengers are $8.00 per person one way). Visit the Airport Express web site for a $2.00 discount coupon.
For Taxicab Service from O'Hare or Midway
North Shore Cab Company (847.864.7500) has a flat rate of $31 plus $1 per extra person from O'Hare. From Midway they charge a flat rate of $50 plus $1 extra per person.
303Taxi (847.303.0303) has a flat rate of $31 with no charge for extra riders and no charge for tolls to/from O'Hare. From Midway, they charge a rate of $50.
To obtain a cab from either of the above companies, you will need to call the company. You can call in advance or once you get to the airport. All other cab companies can range from $35–$40 one way to O'Hare and $60–$75 one way to Midway.
