An introduction to classic works in the history of the health sciences,
with an emphasis on the physical book as well as the intellectual
content of the work. Students will be given the opportunity to examine
original printed and manuscript materials in the collection of the
History of Medicine Division, National Library of Medicine. This
approach will provide a unique opportunity to place recognized classics
into the context of their production, distribution, and reception.
