If you have been assigned to work with doctoral-level biomedical researchers, doctoral students, and other basic scientists, you may have discovered that they are very different from clinical professionals and students. This course will introduce librarians to the culture and training of basic biomedical researchers, as well as the nature of research, the scientific method, types of research areas, and trends. Understanding these basics will help participants feel more comfortable interacting with this library user group and tailor their services to meet the information needs of this community at their home institutions more productively. |
