Marion Ball has been a tireless advocate of health informatics, completing in 1995 a three-year term as President of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA). She serves on the Board of Regents of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and is a member of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME).
