Standards for Chiropractic College Libraries

Preface [1996]

The Standards for Chiropractic College Libraries were endorsed in 1995 by the Board of Directors of the Medical Library Association (MLA). These standards offer a sound basis for evaluating chiropractic college libraries in the present and for modeling their progress into the future. They are designed to adapt to the needs of each chiropractic college and to be compatible with other library guidelines.

This document was compiled by the Standards Committee of MLA's Chiropractic Libraries Section, assisted by the Standards Committee of MLA's Section Council. Special thanks go to all those who have worked to create and uphold standards for chiropractic college libraries since the founding of the Chiropractic Library Consortium in 1979. Thanks for the encouragement and support of Section Council's Standards Committee, chaired by Patricia L. Thibodeau, AHIP. And thanks to MLA for sharing the cost and making the publication of these recognized Standards for Chiropractic College Libraries possible.
