At the end of April, MLA sunset the Disaster Information Specialization (DIS). At the start of May, a new MLE catalog of no-cost disaster-related courses dawned in MEDLIB-ED: Disaster Preparation, Response, & Recovery for Libraries and Librarians. We invite you to visit the catalog and take courses that will help you prepare now to protect your library staff, community, and resources.

The catalog contains two edited courses from the specialization contributed by Daniel T. Wilson, Deputy Director of the VA Claude Moore Health Sciences Library – A Seat at the Table: Working with the Disaster Workforce and In Case of Emergencies: Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planning – and offerings from the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) on creating a plan for responding to disasters, ransomware, inclusive disaster planning, and other areas of disaster planning, response, and recovery. We’ll add new courses from NNLM as they are created.
