New JMLA Assistant, Obituaries, and Social Media Editors Announced

The Journal of the Medical Library Association (JMLA) is pleased to announce new additions to our editorial team!

Thane Chambers is a new assistant editor. Thane is the Research Impact Librarian at the University of Alberta, has an impressive record of peer-review publications, and was the social media editor for Journal of Advanced Nursing. She is also a member of the JMLA equity workgroup, has a history of excellent reviewing for JMLA, and was previously a JMLA editorial board member.

Beverly Murphy, AHIP, FMLA and Tashiana Scott-Cochran are new obituaries editors. Tashiana is a MLS student at North Carolina Central University and a new MLA member. She is passionate about shining light on the unique qualities of our departed colleagues to memorialize their important contributions to health sciences librarianship. Beverly is the Assistant Director, Communications & Web Content and Hospital Nursing Liaison at the Duke University Medical Center Library & Archives and the Watts College of Nursing. She is a long-standing member of MLA with a distinguished history of having served as the MLA president, MLA News editor, member of the MLA Board of Directors, and JMLA editorial board member. Beverly is also a member of the JMLA equity workgroup.

Matthew Noe is a new social media editor. Matthew is the Lead Collection & Knowledge Management Librarian at Harvard Medical School’s Countway Library. He has significant experience with social media, including managing Graphic Medicine International Collective’s social media presence, and brings an abundance of new ideas for enhancing JMLA’s outreach to and engagement with readers and authors.
