Virtual library services are as important as ever, not just for remote patrons, but also for the convenience and benefit of all library users. If you are an outreach, reference, or liaison librarian or serve students and faculty in another capacity, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from two experts how to transform your library’s virtual services and engage and expand your library community.
Julie Evener and Matthew Chase, authors of “Community Engagement in the Virtual Library,” are your guides to identifying new virtual services for your library. Through a presentation, case examples, guided discussion, and brainstorming activities, you’ll learn how to develop and refine your current virtual community engagement practices and identify new virtual services by assessing your successful physical services. You’ll receive tips and guidance on marketing your great new services and on evaluating the effectiveness of your services by using freely available assessment tools or creating your own.
Julie and Matthew will also address accessibility issues, meeting mental health needs within communities, and creating culturally responsive programs and content that allow diverse patrons to benefit from virtual services.
You’ll receive handouts you can use to visualize and plan all aspects of creating, marketing, and improving your virtual services.
You’ll leave the webinar with ideas for new or improved virtual services and new skills in outreach, marketing, program management and development, and assessment.
Upon registering for this webinar, you will receive a code entitling you to a 30% discount on Virtual Services in the Health Sciences Library to which Julie and Matthew contributed a chapter.
