Environmental Health and Justice: a brief primer

This self-paced online class provides an introduction to environmental health and environmental justice and presents three environmental justice resources you can use to find data and statistics about environmental health disparities in your community. The course is presented entirely in Moodle, and includes a  45 minute narrated and interactive tutorial.  Explore the Environmental Justice Dashboard from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and EJScreen, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Mapping tool to find data about environmental health disparities in your community, then use MedlinePlus.gov to find environmental health information for library patrons and members of the public.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this class, students will be able to:

1. Define environmental health and environmental justice.

2. Use the Environmental Justice Dashboard from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention to find data on environmental health disparities in your community.
