Do you want to address health disparities in topics that don’t explicitly address them? Do you be part of a movement to improve health outcomes for historically marginalized populations? Are you looking to expand the reach of your systematic review service? Do you want to develop a highly marketable skill?

Molly Higgins, a Systematic Review Librarian on the USDA’s Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review team with expertise in health equity frameworks, the Cochrane-E framework, and PRISMA-Equity reporting standards, will be your guide to incorporating health equity into systematic reviews.

Whether a systematic review topic directly addresses health disparities, there’s a great chance that the review’s conclusions will be applied to communities affected by health disparities. In this webinar, you’ll learn how to address health equity in systematic reviews, whether or not the topic explicitly references it.

You’ll learn Cochrane and PRISMA approaches to incorporating health equity into systematic review and get practical, hands-on experience applying these guidelines to designing a research question, formulating a search, extracting data, and drawing conclusions. And, if you need to search for further resources on historically marginalized populations, you’ll be able to evaluate the sources you find.

You’ll leave the webinar with skills and confidence you can immediately apply to your reviews and to guiding researchers and with the knowledge that you are contributing to improving health outcomes for historically marginalized populations.

By the end of the webinar, you will be able to:

  • Describe Cochrane and PRISMA approaches to health equity in systematic review methods
